The Site
The photographs here are organized into several portfolios as indicated in the links at the lower left. The number of photos and the current position in each portfolio is shown in the middle above the photographs. Navigate by clicking on the arrows; the single arrows move one at a time, the double arrows move five at a time. Photographs in all portfolios are arranged in chronological order, starting with the most recent. Many photos appear in more than one portfolio.
There are artist's 'Comments' for all but two of the portfolios. Some of the more popular photos have been collected in the Favourites portfolio. And for those who want everything in one place, the All Photos portfolio contains all the photos on the site. In some cases older photographs have been removed from some of the other portfolios, but they can still be found in 'All Photos.'
News
I am finally updating this site (February, 2011) after nearly a year of neglect.
- Last summer I finally purchased my first SLR camera (a Canon T2i), and I used it extensively during a 15-day trip to Turkey in September and October. The new 'Istanbul' portfolio shows a few of those photographs, almost entirely of 16th century ceramic tiles from buildings in Istanbul.
- Last year I said that I would make it possible for people to comment on my Seeing Things photographs over the internet. However, I have found that I don't have the skills to allow me to do that without having problems with spamming, so that isn't going to happen. I still plan to do something more with that project, but as yet I don't know exactly what that will be.
- One of the highlights of the past year was to have one of my photographs accepted for the LOOK 2010 juried exhibition in the spring of 2010. This turned out to be a very selective, high quality show. Out of 122 artists who submitted work only 28 Artists were represented, about 6 of them photographers. The work of mine that was accepted for that show, Winter Comes to the Unknown Planet, is shown at the right.
